Artifacts, Furniture, Antiques & Collectibles From the Collection of Karl Stirner
April 17 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Unlike the show ARTHAUS presented a few months ago of metal sculpture, this show focuses on Karl Stirner as collector — a collector at all levels, from African tribal art, Asian and Early American art, furniture, antiques, collectibles and outsider art. Join us Third Thursday, April 17, 5:00-7:30, to view a carefully selected, and large, group of diverse pieces from Karl’s personal collection. All items are available for purchase.
Karl Stirner, was a German-born American Sculptor, (and a resident of Easton, PA from 1983 until he passed in 2016) known internationally for his abstract metal sculpture. He was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Corcoran Gallery, among many others. In Easton, he remains known as the key player in revitalizing the Easton arts scene — the city honored him by creating the “Karl Stirner Arts Trail.”
But Karl was also an avid collector (collector in the broadest sense of the word!). Long time friend of Karl’s and ARTHAUS Curator, Deborah Rabinsky, led an effort joined by Karl’s son, Jonas, and Gallery Director, Jon Clark to bring together an exhibit and sale of some of the outstanding and diverse pieces from the collection.
The Stirner collection can be viewed and purchased until May 17. The show will be refreshed as items are sold, so new pieces will be arriving regularly.
ARTHAUS is located at 645 Hamilton St., in downtown Allentown. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 11-6, or by appointment. Information, 610-841-4866.
