Join us on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024 from 6-8pm in our Fowler Community Room for an exciting evening of literary and visual art! Author Melinda Moulton and illustrator Ron De Long will be giving a talk about the creation of the children’s book Bobby Blue. Ron will be doing an in-depth demonstration of his illustration process followed by a meet and greet and book signing.
Copies of Bobby Blue as well as original illustrations from the book will be on display and available for purchase during the event.
Light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.
About The Author
Author Melinda Moulton has a fascinating and varied background in leadership, development, writing, and film production. Melinda served for 40 years as the CEO of Main Street Landing, an environmental and socially conscious redevelopment company that she co-founded in 1983 with her partner, Lisa Steele. As CEO, Melinda provided the leadership to produce a 40-year incremental redevelopment project for the Burlington Vermont Waterfront and spearheaded 250,000 square feet and thirty million dollars of built environment on Burlington, Vermont’s Waterfront.
Her current projects include working with her husband Rick Moulton and Rick Moulton Productions to produce Historic Documentary Films and Legacy Films that celebrate people and organizations that have made a difference in the world. She was co-founder of this company in 1974 and is now acting in her new role is the Executive Producer. They are presently working on a PBS Documentary Film: Ethan Allen – The Man & The Myth.
About the Illustrator
Artist Ron De Long is a masterful visual storyteller with a vast resume in the arts and education. He resides in Slatington, PA and is the proud owner of Studio & Gallery 2908. He studied drawing and painting with mentors: John Terelak at the Gloucester Academy of Art, Rosemarie Sloat at Kutztown University, and Mia Shock at the York Academy of Fine Arts. Ron had a long career at Crayola, and taught arts education throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond – including at The Baum School of Art. Ron also made a philanthropic gift to inspire and encourage students at Penn State Lehigh Valley, with the Ronald K. De Long Gallery.
