Bassist Gerald Veasley has been a fixture at Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest almost from the beginning, performing with many bands and hosting events. But he may be best known for his late-night jam sessions that allow festivalgoers to keep the party going and experience the true heart of jazz: the spontaneous coming-together of musicians to have thrilling musical conversations with no prior rehearsal.
Beginning in 2011, the Veasley’s Midnight Jams became a popular event with both audiences and musicians. Aside from a host of scheduled players, you never know who else might show up to join the fun, including some headliners.
Gerald Veasley welcomes Kim Waters, JJ Sansaverino, Chris "Big Dog" Davis, Eric Darius, Brian Simpson, Brian Bromberg, Ray Fuller, Marqueal Jordan, Tony Moore, Curtis McCain, Althea Rene and Carol Riddick.
