The Art and Science of Soil Presentation

Kirsten Kurtz, Assistant Director of the Cornell Soil Health Lab at Cornell University will be providing an overview of soil science as it relates to soil health management in agricultural systems. Kurtz will cover issues related to historical soil degradation in the United States as well as share soil preservation and remediation methods. In addition to exploring the scientific side of soil, she will discuss soil’s role in art and how she employs soil painting as a communication tool.

The presentation will be held in the Lipkin Theater at Northampton Community College.
