FABLES OF THE RECONSTRUCTION
NEW COLLAGE PAINTINGS BY WILLIAM HUDDERS
January 13 – February 6, 2025
Reception: Third Thursday, January 16, 2025 | 6:00-8:00pm
David E. Rodale & Rodale Family Galleries
Known as a masterful oil painter, William Hudders embarks
on a new approach through this series of collage paintings.
Hudders’ continual exploration of new visual worlds has resulted in this series of large-scale, surreally storied collage paintings. Hudders employs an intuitive process of both seeking out images and letting the found images guide the compositions. Only as the layering of images progresses – softened and developed by washes of acrylic color – does the meaning or theme of each image begin to reveal itself. The result is a dizzying, dancing, Bosch-esque panorama of scenes within scenes.
Born and raised in Emmaus, PA , William Hudders studied at The Baum School of Art, holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design, and received his MFA in Painting from University of Pennsylvania. Hudders has been painting professionally for over twenty-five years, exhibiting his work in many solo and group exhibitions throughout PA, NJ, and NY. His work is included in the collections many public and private collectors. He currently teaches at Northampton Community College and maintains his studio in downtown Easton, PA.
Join us Third Thursday, January 16th from 6:00-8:00pm. This reception is free and open to all ages. Light refreshments will be served.
