Towpaths & Tales: An Aerial Photographic History of the Delaware Canals
February 28 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Event: fb://event/605062479136283
Take a flight back in time over a much different Delaware Valley—one in which canals that once powered the region remained largely intact, less than a decade after abandonment—then return to the present over the landscape as we know it today, without ever leaving the ground.
Presenter Mike McCann, during his 21 years with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, has a deep knowledge of properties offered to the state’s Green Acres Program. His job included review of aerial photographs from 1930 to the present under a stereo microscope.
Mike enthusiastically shares his wide-ranging knowledge, fun quirky facts, and riveting stories of our region’s canals.
This event takes place in the Nature Center.
