Weaving History: A Victorian Hair Wreath Workshop
November 9 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Event: fb://event/529706166137316
In the nineteenth century, many people had heirlooms made out of their loved one’s hair. These items were delicately crafted and made as mementos for friends and loved ones, used to mourn the dead or simply as symbols of friendship and personal connections. Today, in the era of social media, these heirlooms seem like a strange curiosity from a long-ago time.
Join NCHGS’s Curator of Exhibitions for a workshop to learn about hairworked objects and learn how to make one yourself!
Tickets are $30.00 per person. Seating is limited, and registration is required. All supplies will be provided.
