The Flood of June 2006 in Easton, PA
Photos and words by Laini Abraham
I had just moved to the 100 block of Spring Garden Street a few months earlier. There had been major floods in Easton in 2004 and 2005, but this was the first one for which I had a front-porch-view seat. The river started rising on June 27th. By the 28th, Met-Ed had cut power to most of my block. We were asked to evacuate. Once I got myself and my dog (Fez, for anyone who knew him back then) relocated safely to my parents’ house in Palmer Twp, I returned with my camera to document the flooding. These are a few of the photos from that time.
