Join NCHGS for a walking tour of the hideouts and safe havens of organized crime, vice, and illegal indulgences of the Prohibition Era!

With a reputation that earned it the nickname “The Little Apple”, Easton became a hotbed of resistance to Prohibition. But what was it about this little city, nestled at the banks of two major rivers, that allowed it to become both a gathering place and a gateway – a city of contradictions?

Based on newspaper accounts, first-person interviews, and photos and documents from the NCHGS archives, join us to visit the sites of some of the most notorious brothels, breweries, and back-alley speakeasies in Easton’s unforgettable history.

“From Spirits to Speakeasies” is offered on the fourth Friday of every month. Tickets are $20.00 per person. Tours last approximately 2 hours. Please be advised that the walking route does include minor hills and crossing major intersections.
