9 Things to Do this Weekend
The weekend the whole town’s outside.
1
Saturday
12-4 PM
Downtown Easton
Spring Into Easton
A tasting and shopping crawl through 40 downtown businesses — the kind of afternoon that reminds you why you live here. Grab a friend and plan to lose track of time.
2
Friday
7:30 PM
State Theatre Center for the Arts
Folsom Prison Experience
An immersive re-creation of Johnny Cash’s legendary 1968 Folsom Prison concert, complete with a warden, guards, and an audience cast as inmates. It’s theater, it’s music, and it’s weirdly thrilling.
3
Friday
7:30 PM
Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University
Didę: Rise Up
A contemporary dance performance rooted in Benin’s Gèlèdé tradition, blending hand-carved masks with modern choreography. Rare chance to see choreographer Marcel Gbeffa’s work locally.
4
Saturday
10 AM–7:30 PM
Ice House, Bethlehem
Lehigh Valley Punk Rock Flea Market
Fifty-plus vendors selling vinyl, instruments, art, vintage clothing, and oddities — followed by live bands at 4:30. Free admission, pet friendly, and probably the most fun per square foot you’ll find this weekend.
5
Saturday
6–9 PM
Free Bridge Realty, Easton
From Easton to Nova Scotia — Art by Elizabeth Snelling
Acclaimed local artist Elizabeth Snelling shows gorgeous original works in a one-night opening that doubles as a Spring Into Easton afterparty. If you’re already downtown for the crawl, this is where you end up.
6
Sunday
3 PM
Williams Center for the Arts at Lafayette College
Strings of Hope
Violins that survived the Holocaust and the atomic bombing of Hiroshima perform together for the first time. Film, spoken word, and live music trace the stories of these instruments across continents. This is the one you’ll be thinking about days later.
7
Saturday
8:45 PM
Easton Public Market
Market After Hours — Deal
The new Market After Hours series kicks off with Deal, one of the region’s best Grateful Dead tribute bands. Mike Frank & Friends open at 9. Advance tickets $10, or $15 at the door. Enter through the back.
8
Saturday
9 PM–1:30 AM
The Lafayette Bar, Easton
COVEN ft. Frenchy & the Punk
Dark post-punk, goth, and underground sounds take over the Lafayette Bar’s red-lit back room. Live sets from Frenchy and the Punk and The Mystic Underground plus go-go dancers and DJ sets all night. $15 cover, 21+.
9
Sunday
4–6 PM
Book & Puppet Co., Easton
The Human Thread
Part storytelling, part community gathering – six speakers share raw, unscripted pieces of their journey. No egos, no self-promotion. Just the kind of afternoon that makes you feel more connected to the people around you.
