Was curious if I, as a non member, was able to cash a check at Embassy if it originated from there. Alissa Collins from the 248 Easton Pa branch was incredibly friendly, honest, and helpful! She is a great asset to your company!
I had a terrible problem with my checking account and they have exceptional service and fixed my problem in 20 minutes. Best bank I’ve ever done business with.
So, I took out a home equity loan to buy my leased vehicle because the rate was better than whatever bank the car place used. Big mistake! I had some damage in my bathroom and had an insurance claim. The insurance company makes the check out to my wife and I, and Embassy Bank. I get estimates to do the job and select a contractor. I go up to Embassy Bank with the check to get funds for the job. They said when the job is completed, I can have the money. I explained to them that I the contractor will not start the job without a down payment, and they were like, oh, really? So, I explained that I needed to give him half down, and the other half when the job was completed. It seemed that nobody there knew exactly how to handle this situation. But, they were calling people, and asking the manager, or whatever, and kind of figured it out. But they were giving me a bit of flack because I wanted some of the money to buy supplies like the vanity, medicine cab, shower, etc. So, I had him re-do the estimate, and put the supplies in the estimate, mostly. Now I email the woman I was dealing with the new estimate, and asked her to please tell me when I can come back up with the insurance check, and get the needed funds. 3 or 4 days go by, and I hear nothing. I go back up there with the check, and told her about the email. She said she never got it. I showed her on my phone that I sent it, and immediately she got defensive saying I’m not saying you didn’t send it. Finally, it gets figured out somehow, and I now have his down payment! They said when the job is completed, bring the new check back, and they will cut me a check for him for the rest. Fast forward, the job is completed, and looks great! I go back up to get the rest of the money for the contractor, and they tell me that I need a “certificate of completion”. I’m like, a what? Yeah, the contractor will give you that, they say. I call him right then and there, and he says “a what?”. I explain to him that these people do not believe me that the job is completed. For some reason I am lying about my bathroom being repaired. He was on his way home, and would try to get me something like that. I waited around until 5, then the bank closed, so I still have this check that I cannot get funds from for the contractor because the bank doesn’t believe that it is repaired. If I needed a certificate, why did they not inform me of this prior to me coming back to get the funds? I feel like I’m in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm! I am waiting for the contractor to give me this stupid meaningless certificate still. So, this bank has done nothing but cause unneeded stress. I have never been jerked around this much by any business of any kind in my life. I was seriously about to snap in that place. They talk down to me, and treat me like I’m a problem customer for just doing what I was told to do. I just wanted my bathroom repaired. I cannot believe how much of an ordeal this is! If there are sooooo many things that they expect of you in this situation, they should give all the workers a cheat sheet or something, so they know exactly what you are going to need to do, so you know ahead of time. It just seemed that nobody really knew what to do, and they were making it up as we went along.
Embassy is a great place to bank. They have all the modern things that you expect with a bit of old school charm and kindness. Good rates and nice people are a good combination
