Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center

Nice paths and bathroom during working hours closes at 4pm I believe. One bathroom at the center itself and another on the trail. There’s the main trail on the left of the education center where a lot of dog walkers are and more trails that go off (weather closed a major area it seemed) and on the right side it’s a hilly running trail I believe bikers can go there too. There are no mile markers but there is definitely enough space to run around different paths of the same trail so you aren’t circling and nice views. It gets crowded and with that weather preventing the entrance to the one side of the main trail area there was a lot of people with their dogs or couples walking aimlessly so a little annoying for running. A lot of convenient parking 👍🏻

Absolutely wonderful location. Well maintained and very enjoyable. Great for families, hikers, and fishing too. Loved the entire area and even impressed with the bathrooms that were clean and neat. Great place to visit. Loved it.

I always enjoy a good hike at Jacobsburg. You could do a super easy, quick hike or you could do hours and hours of hiking. Depends on the time but yes, the trails can be busy, but there’s always another trail for you to try. I have explored half of the trails and I absolutely love it. People are usually very friendly and there’s always different things going on. I haven’t explored the education center yet, but I know that the new parking lots are great and they seem to really try to keep up with the trails which is amazing. Also it’s absolutely stunning in the fall with all the different colors of leaves. The bathrooms are also an added plus that are great. I’ve brought my dogs and there has never been a problem. It has always been great. It’s also a great time to swim here as well!
