Pop’s Kitchen and Taproom

My family and I were celebrating our son’s birthday weekend and decided to go to the Pocono’s Raceway. We also wanted to make a stop for lunch and take a break from the long ride. This restaurant or shall I say hybrid was exceptional!!! I started with reading the reviews which I couldn’t stop laughing at. The forever teenager within me went straight for the lower ratings because again I wanted to ensure my family would have a great experience and traveling hrs to get to a place for it to be trash wasn’t it . So I read a ton of these negative reviews and let me assure you all lies!!!

The restaurant is across from a gas station, when you walk in to the left it looks like a rest stop, snacks, drinks , beer etc. To the right several tables if you’d like to enjoy your meal in-doors . In the middle is the kitchen / ordering area . I must say! Super clean! You can see everyone engaged and excited, big smiles working actively and cohesively. We opted to have our meal outside and the young lady who helped us said they would definitely bring it outside for us. Which by the way we blinked and our food was there.

We ordered a cheesesteak, chicken tenders , buffalo wrap , burger (can’t recall the name but I’ll just say it was absolutely delish!!! )! And everyone had fries on the side and chose their own drinks . I will say price point wise it was a bit high based on the thought of it’s across a gas station by the highway. When we break it down it was 5 of us – and it was about $22 pp with fries and drinks . If you are trying to cut costs and are in a large group share fries instead of everyone taking ordering their own. 1 order would have been sufficient . Portions are big . Quality is greater and the way I was enjoying every juicy bite of my burger gives this place a 10/10. If I could give it a higher score I definitely would . Wish my review would delete all the negative ones .

Also, while we enjoyed our meal this place was a revolving door of customers. Cars would come and go , everyone would go inside order their meals and would go on their way. I would say you are in the mood for a yummy meal! Make the trip – 5 mins or 2+ hrs or as a mid point to your next destination! Must GO!!! We truly enjoyed our experience!

The girlfriend stopped here to grab some road trip snacks and thanks to the great staff ended up ordering their amazing Jamming Burger and a chocolate shake. Don’t think this is just a gas station, they’re doing real work in the kitchen here.

Very cute little eclectic place. Staying near by and just randomly picked based on menu options. Wasn’t sure what to expect when we pulled up to a gas station but were more then happy with the results. Good portions and good fresh food. Well worth the experience to stop in.
