Courtyard by Marriott Bethlehem Lehigh Valley/I-78

I experienced police brutality and was left without my phone or purse and at risk for a medical emergency (I am disabled and always mitigating risk). I happened to see this hotel from the street and went there to ask for help. The front desk did not judge me. They listened to me, let me use their phone, gave me the number to a ride service, helped me find where my belongings were as much as they could by looking up numbers, and used trauma informed care skills.
I used to teach these skills before I became disabled to companies like this; I used to audit their policies for inclusion, potential discrimination, and help build mentally healthy workplaces. So, I know about this. I also know how people get profiled and judged, especially women who are invisibly disabled.

They were respectful of me the entire time. They gave me bottled water without me asking. They let me grab the tissues. They knew I had no purse to pay. I moved nearby very recently and had nobody to call, no local numbers memorized, either.
One of them, the woman, even hugged me before I left. I dont expect that kind of treatment usually, but I really needed the hug.

I might have ended up passed out on the street or vomiting in a ditch if the staff were not as kind and helpful as they were. This world is really hard for some people, myself included. Staff like this who are truly compassionate and go beyond their jobs to show mercy and aid to someone in a crisis are our hope for a better future.

I hope they read this. I hope their boss gives them a bonus or something. I hope they are rewarded and they know how much their kindness matters.

Warmly welcomed upon check in. Was traveling with dogs and they greeted the dogs with an adorable bag of biscuits! Such a nice touch. Hotel clean and updated, room so comfortable and all staff were friendly and helpful! We were exhausted and grabbed dinner at hotel. Food fresh & tasty!

What a great property to stay for business or pleasure when you’re visiting the Lehigh Valley. The staff is so friendly and responsive. The hotel is clean and located in perfectly near restaurants and business. We have been traveling there for years as we had children attending Moravian University and also Muhlenberg College. It’s easy to get to from either location.
